For many of us, Thanksgiving marks the beginning of the Giving Season. It’s the time when we make decisions about where and how much to give before the clock runs out on the calendar year. We’re in good company: According to Nonprofits Source, gifts made in December alone account for more than 30% of annual giving to nonprofits.

Nonprofits depend on this annual surge of generosity, so it’s no coincidence that our mailboxes – real and virtual – are overflowing at this time of year with appeals to support any number of worthy causes.
